Our Core Values
Bible Based Living
We take the Holy Bible as God's Word to man and as such is the revelation of God's will for life and living for every human being, covering every aspect of life. The Bible becomes the standard and rule of living in all affairs of life. Coming into His will begins when we make an 180° turnabout in our thinking, heart and the direction of our life to God through faith in Jesus Christ, God's Son, as Savior and Lord of our life. (John 1:12-14; Romans 10:9-11).
Christ-Centered Purpose
Every born-again believer (i.e. the person who has committed themselves to Jesus Christ) according to the Bible is expected by God to live in genuine submission to Jesus Christ and make Him the center of their focus, priority, life, work and play.
Holy Spirit Led Ministry
It has always been the emphasis of Regency from its inception to give the Holy Spirit the preeminence in the ministry that He may led, empower and enable us for life and service. We value the Holy Spirit's presence. embrace His gifts, offices and ministries to the Body of Christ.
Integrity Valued
Christ-like character is important to us, therefore, character matters. We believe that it is far more important to have godly character than to possess vast biblical knowledge, eloquence in speech, ministry skillfulness or powerful spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 13:1-3) Even though we do need the others, integrity comes first,
Connecting
In the New Testament it describes the Church of Jesus Christ as His Body and He as the Head. In 1Corinthians 12 every believer is identified as a member of Christ's Body, interrelated and interconnected in spiritual union. As a local church it is our desire to show this as an interrelated and interconnected community. We need one another.
Equipping & Empowerment
We operate from the biblical mandate Jesus Christ gave to His Church to “make disciples” of all people (Matthew 28:18-20). This includes equipping believers for life and service. Therefore, it is our goal, desire and vision to create an environment and opportunities for every believer to be trained, equipped and empowered to carry out in some form the ministry of Jesus.
Building & Expanding
The Kingdom of God is not stagnant and neither should be the local church. The Kingdom of God is an ever-expanding kingdom and that's they way God wants it. Jesus Christ said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” and “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8)
Partnership
We prefer to use the term “Partnership” rather than the usual term of “Membership” as it conveys more accurately the relationship the congregation should have to one another and to the leaders of the church. No one can do it alone but we can do it together, as we equally share in the responsibility of the church succeeding in its God given mission.
Leadership
We value leaders. Leaders make things happen. John C. Maxwell teaches the principle of the “Law of the Lid” which says, 'no organization, enterprise, company, business or church can rise above it's leaders.' Therefore, our desire and goal is to raise up leaders by creating environments where leaders are recognized, developed and released in Christ's service.
Service
Every Christian is a servant of Christ, and is called to serve in the life and ministry of their local church, according to time, opportunity, ability, gifting and maturity.
Heart of Worship
Worship is much more than merely an activity we participate in on Sunday morning. Jesus said in John 4:23, 24, that the Heavenly Father is looking and searching for “True Worshipers”. God is interested in the genuine heart of worship in the person who lives a life of worship, honoring, servicing and pleasing God, and not just the external manifestation of what we would call worship. Therefore, being worshipers is emphasized at Regency and we love to worship.
